The United Kingdom’s Festivals

If you are in the process of attempting to choose which festivals in the United Kingdom to buy tickets for this summer, then I would heed the following advice very carefully as I am rather an aficionado when it comes to the country’s festivals due to the fact that I have worked for a production company that provides logistics for dozens of events all over the nation.
This means that even if I am not working at a particular event, I am normally able to get tickets to it due to the industry links that I have through the company. Here are my top tips for which events you should get tickets to:

1. Go to the Braintree Ale festival. This event wins the CAMBRA award for best festival every year due to the exceptional standard of the beers and ciders served during the three days of celebrations. However, one should be aware of the fact that there is no camping at this festival so you should probably ensure you can get a room at a Braintree hotel before purchasing your tickets for the event as all of the accommodation gets booked up well in advance.

2. Waveform is another smaller event that is definitely worth a visit at least once: last year The Animal Collective, Tellison, Peggy Sue and The Go Team all played, and no doubt the line up will be comparably attractive next year. The camping at this event is positioned a bit too close to the evening’s dance arena and so you will want to book yourself into a Shrewsbury hotel because this is the most local town and there are numerous establishments offering remarkably comfortable rooms considering how affordable they are.

3. Go to the Big Chill festival. This is such a special event because of where the festival site is located, in a rolling valley at the foot of the Black mountains on the border between England and Wales. It is consequently an exceptionally beautiful place to visit and spend time. Like Glastonbury, the festival occurs on a site where there have been celebrations for centuries due to the belief that energy lines run through the areas.
