Innsbruck: The Ultimate Alpine Destination

Innsbruck is the capital of Tyrol, the westernmost region of Austria. Here is the heartland of the country's mountain range. Despite being surrounded by snowcapped peaks, Innsbruck is well connected with the rest of the world – there are highways leading to Verona, Munich and Vienna.

Being a strategically important place, Innsbruck has a rich history. Military transportation rote since Roman times, the town was converted to a residence during the Habsburg times and enjoyed much prosperity since then.
